i'll be waiting for you.. so if you come here.. you'll find me.

i was listening to my iPod when this track came up. it was something that i haven't heard in a long time. it's an acoustic guitar version of final fantasy 8's Eyes On Me. then i remembered instantly why i fell in love with PlayStation One way back in highschool.

squall, rinoa, zell, quistis, irvine, selphie, seifer, ultimecia -- oooh it's all coming back to me!

squall & zell, i ABSOLUTELY love them! squall being all aloof and cold and stuff, but you know that he's really kind. and he even smiles in the end. SWOON. and the dancing scene where he first met rinoa. SWOON. and the ragnarok scene, of course. SWOON. i used to think i like fictional guys with scars. haha! look at squall and kenshin himura. you've got to love them, right?

and zell. OMG. so kulit yet so strong. i feel like if i'm with zell, i'd be laughing my ass off all day!

laguna. oooh i ought to bonk him in the head. torpe! but i still like him though :)

irvine's ok. a bit too maangas for me though. (hmm... now that i look at his picture again, he sort of looks like shawn michaels. hahaha!)

of course i like rinoa and quistis and selphie too. i always like women who can fight and kick enemy butt.

oooh, i love it too when i get a new GF (guardian force). super achievement! pinaghihirapan ko yun :D shiva is my #1 fave because she's pretty. and i really like ice powers (like shiva's, subzero's and what's his name from flame of recca? was it mikagami?)  and i like diablo too, and doomtrain!

and the card games. hay nakakamiss! i want to play the game again!

love, rosie

wahoo! last week i was able to finish reading my 3rd chick-lit for the month. it's Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern (who is, by the way, the daughter of Ireland's prime minister. what a lucky woman!)

i am quite impressed. here's a book where all you read are letters, greeting cards, email messages and chat logs. and yet you get the whole story. amazing! as in the only narration that you'll read is found in the epilogue, but you still picture everything - where they are, how the years have gone by, etc etc. it's like disney's wall-e where all that wall-e says is "eeve-ahhh" but you still get it.

anyway, as for the story per se, it is cute :) although it kind of sucks that it took decades (marriages and kids and divorces included) before the realization hit rosie (the main character). but all in all, it was good. a light, easy, chillax read. perfect to read in a comfy coffee shop, or in bed, with a cup of coffee :)

'spro ftw!

since i have discovered coffee shops years ago, i realized that creamer is just no good for me. in order for me to enjoy a cup of coffee, it has to have milk.

naturally, my fave drink would be a cappuccino, which is an espresso-based drink with steamed milk, frothed milk, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. and then on special occasions (like when i need to feel some extra TLC), i just spice it up with extra hazelnut or mint syrup.

today i tried a different kind of coffee - brewed coffee plus milk. and then i realized, brewed coffee is no good for me either. i have to have espresso!

ok, quick overview:
brewed/drip coffee - coursely ground coffee beans, hot water, let water drip through coffee.
espresso - finely ground coffee beans, hot water, let water pass through coffee quickly by using pressure, result is concentrated coffee with crema.

brewed coffee is not really bad. i mean, it's still coffee :) the taste between the two is just different - and Spro definitely suits my taste :D

sunday randomness

i treated mom and danny and ronel and ate ditas to yoshinoya for lunch today. thank you danny & ronel for cleaning my vacuum and my industrial fan! thank you thank you! now my vacuum is ready for more bad-ass dust obliteration! bwahaha!

i spent the afternoon in megamall. i bought a ticket to the sherlock holmes movie. but i was about 2 hours early, so i went to powerbooks and got myself a new book to read :D ok, so it's not a political or philosophical or some deep sh*t book. i got a light romantic fiction - Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern. but at least i'm reading haha! the 3rd fiction i've purchased in half a month :)

then i went to the foodcourt and had a snack. i got taro naicha bubble tea and a ham & cheese on wheat wrap from plato wraps. both i haven't tried before. hmm... good discoveries, i should say!

then the sherlock holmes movie. it was... ok. not quite avatar-astig, but it wasn't bad either.

on my way home i passed by toy kingdom and they had this cute barbie display. of course i remembered my fellow evils and toy collectors ate ja & mik haha!

then i passed by 7/11 to get my coffee. they have a new flavor - banana cappuccino. weird, i know. hmm... weird talaga ang lasa. i still prefer my usual french vanilla. oks! time for some book reading!

kick-ass femininity

i have said before that i admire sophie kinsella for pursuing her "alternative career" -- that is being a chick-lit writer.

there's another woman who i admire - and slightly envy too. she is sharon del adel, vocalist of the rock band Within Temptation. ok, so you think "yeah sure, another rocker chick". but it's not just her powerful voice that caught my attention. aside from their band's kick-ass music (which i discovered through body combat wahoo!), her fashion sense is amazing.

sharon actually wears gowns while rocking out onstage! as in long gowns and cocktail dresses and combat boots. i love it!

with the rest of the band

it makes sense though, because before being a full time musician, she first worked in the fashion industry.

when you look at her onstage, she can project toughness and femininity at the same time. plus she's from both the fashion and music industries. ok, now i'm really jealous :))

welcome back bret!

it has been 12 years since the excellence of execution, bret "the hitman" hart, stepped into the wwe ring. and last time that he was there, it was an ugly ending. it was a match between him and "the heartbreak kid", shawn michaels.

12 years after the montreal screwjob, bret hart comes back to wwe as guest host. to see him back in the ring... wow. it was just so AWESOME. WOW. i sooo wish i was there, seeing it live.

and then he called out shawn michaels. and to see them together in the ring.. shaking hands. two of the best-est ever. gahhh. it makes me teary eyed :')

ok. ok. i'm all sentimental. must watch old vids of bret hart. pink and black is back! :D

hair lovin'

i have a confession. it has been more or less a year since i last stepped in a salon to take care of my hair. i only go to a salon to have my eyebrows shaped. meaning i hadn't had any haircuts, hair treatments or even a trim. bad idea. my hair has become so dry and dull and ugly.

e awang awa na ako sa kanya. so i decided to give my hair some love. i went to vivere salon in galleria and asked for a haircut and a treatment that doesn't use harsh chemicals (since my skin has a tendency to react badly to lots of strong stuff). the stylist, mr. jc, got me a semi delino treatment since he said that my scalp wasn't healthy anymore. i got a nice back massage & iced tea while waiting too! and then mr. jc proceeded to cut my hair. he was so meticulous! he made sure each strand had the perfect length. and i love it :D

i shelled out less than 2k for everything (including the tips). considering i have long hair and i have been unattentive to my hair needs for so long, i'd think it's all sulit. *thumbsup*

now, if i could just bring myself to blowdry my hair and make it look fabulous every morning...

confessions of a non-shopaholic

call me outdated, but yeah, i was just able to finish reading Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella recently. and i also wasn't able to watch the movie (boo!)

ok. can i say that it was a stressful read? it was! sorry, but i was personally annoyed at rebecca bloomwood (the book's main character) for the most part. i mean, of course almost every woman would LOVE to shop and buy all these glamorous branded stuff. and it's ok to splurge every now and then. but seriously, would you die if you won't be able to get that Denny & George discounted scarf? or would you instantly love a bowl that you previously found hideous just because it appeared in a magazine? or would you force yourself to like a guy just because he is worth $25 million? (ok, so maybe some would actually do this, but nevertheless!) oh, and all the palusot she had to come up with to save her neck. and the pa-impress pero style bulok antics? stressful, i tell you.

buti nalang she was able to do some good in the end. i was hoping though that sophie kinsella would dwell more on the "fighting for what's right" part instead of rebecca's palpak-ness. well, maybe she did it for character build-up, i don't know.

i do admire sophie kinsella (Madeleine Wickham in real life) in one thing though. she is previously a financial journalist, and now she's writing kikay chick-lits! oooh astig! i wish i'd be able to do that too!

eyeliner for dummies

i've tried using eyeliners several times. but alas! they were all in vain :( i've used a pencil liner, which is fairly easy to use. but i can't get that defined look that i want. so i tried liquid eyeliner, which, in my opinion, should be left in the hands of experts if you don't want that messed up look.

while i was strolling around the mall, there was this pregnant make-up sales lady. and i asked "do you have an eyeliner that can be used by beginners?" and she goes "ma'am, dapat po yung felt tip."

so what is a felt tip liner? it's actually also a liquid eyeliner but the applicator is harder and and thinner than an actual brush, so you can line your eyes easily. pure genius! i got the IN2IT felt tip eyeliner. it takes me 3 minutes to apply. and it didn't wear off even after a sweaty combat class! :D
