beauty tag!

I found this game/questionnaire on the net. I think it's pretty fun to do!

SKINCARE

How many times do you wash your face daily?
- Twice.

What skin type do you have?
- Normal/Combination - Sensitive

What is your current cleanser?
- Physiogel Cleanser in the morning, Olay Total Effects Cleanser at night.

Do you exfoliate?
- Yep.

What brand do you use?
- Olay Clarify and Cleanse Daily Scrub

What moisturizer do you use?
- Physiogel AI Cream in the morning, Physiogel Cream before going to bed. (as per recommendation of my dermatologist since I have uber sensitive skin)

Do you have freckles?
- None.

Do you use eye cream?
- Nope, although I think I should start using one. What brand would you suggest?

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
- Not really acne prone. Just a zit once in a while.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ?
- Nope.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use?
- I use Revlon Beyond Natural Skin Matching Make-up (not really a foundation, more of a tinted moisturizer) and Revlon ColorStay Mineral Mousse alternately. I'd prefer to use ColorStay Mineral Mousse for medium coverage everyday, but I use Beyond Natural Skin Matching Make-up for light/sheer coverage to let my skin breathe.

How about concealer?
- No concealer right now. But I prefer to use pencil concealers.

Do you know your undertone color?
- Cool undertone, I think.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?
- I think they're really pretty! They really enhance your eyes. Although they can be a hassle to put on and take off. I'd use them on very special occasions. Other than that, I'm fine with my lashes.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?
- Yep. I don't use mascara though :)

What brand of mascara do you use?
- None

Sephora or MAC?
- No Sephora here :( But their products look nice!

Do you have a MAC Pro-card?
- Nope

What makeup tools do you use in make up application?
- I use a lot of liquid/cream stuff so I don't use a lot of tools. Just my fingers mostly. But I do use an ELF brush for my powder bronzer and a damp sponge for my wet & dry powder foundation. I'll be needing an eyeshadow brush soon when I get my eyeshadow palette!

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes?
- Nope.

For the face?
- Just moisturizer and foundation for the whole face. I actually considered using BB creams, but I'm currently good with my moisturizer-fonda combo.

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?
- Neutral Colors. I'm gonna get an eyeshadow palette this Christmas yey!

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner?
- Before I used IN2IT Liquid Eyeliner with felt-tip applicator which was amazing! Now I use Revlon Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner pencil (batang Revlon lang haha). I super love it! It comes with it's own smudger so I could go with strong, fine lines or a soft, smudged finish.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner?
- Rarely. I'm usually careful when putting on eyeliner.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
- Haven't tried them yet. But starting 2011, I'm gonna use eyeshadows more.

Do you use mineral makeup?
- Just mineral powder foundation.

What is your favorite lipstick?
- I'm really not into lipsticks. I only use tinted balms and lipgloss.

How about lipgloss?
- No specific brand really. Now I use Nivea Natural Volume. I used Lancome Juicy Tubes before too. I'd like to try Burt's Bees or Duwop Lip Venom.

What is your favorite blush to use?
- I've been using The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain since last year. I love how it looks pretty natural. But I think NARS and SmashBox have awesome cream blushes too. I'm interested in trying Covergirl and Olay Simply Ageless Cream blush too. No powder blush for me.

Do you buy your makeup on ebay?
- Nope. It takes the fun out of shopping haha!

Do you like drugstore makeup?
- Hiyep :)

Do you go to CCOs (Cosmetic Company Outlets)?
- Nope. I want to go to one!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
- Oh yeah!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?
- I don't think so. Everyday makeup is a breeze. Although for special occasions, I have to practice the night before haha! Especially for eye makeup. I'm such a noob when it comes to eyeshadows.

Name a makeup crime that you hate?
- foundation that is too light for your skintone

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?
- Neutral makeup. For colorful shades, I take it out on my nail polish instead :) (wooh Sally Hansen!)

Which celebrity(ties) always has great make up?
- Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry

If you had to leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
- Mineral Mousse

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
- I'll have to have at least some powder on.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
- If I don't have any allergic reactions on my face, I'd say I can do without makeup.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
- Hmmm... I've been using a lot of Revlon, so I'll stick with that for now. But once I get rich imma gonna try SmashBox and NARS and MAC and Urban Decay! haha!

A quick run-down of your everyday makeup routine:
- start with clean skin. moisturizer (Physiogel AI Cream). foundation (either Revlon Mineral Mousse or Beyond Natural Makeup). lip balm (Maybelline Lip Balm in Strawberry). blush (The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain). dust powder all over face (either Revlon ColorStay Mineral Foundation or Natural Rice Dual Wet&Dry Foundation). dust a little bronzer (ELF Natural Radiance Blusher in Bronzed). eyeliner (Revlon Luxurious Color Kohl Eyeliner in Black Truffle). finish with lip gloss (Nivea Natural Volume). kulang pa yan ng concealer and eyeshadow and mascara ha! haha!

What do you think of Makeup?
- It's my instant stress-reliever. If I need a quick energy boost, I just swipe on some lipgloss. Makeup is an enhancement, not a necessity. Also, my friends know that I like a lot of guy stuff (rock music, WWE, muay thai, etc.) So me loving make-up confirms that hell yeah, I'm still a girlie-girl. hahah!

Alright, your turn! Tag!
Just a few hours before Christmas. HAVE A BEAUTILICIOUS CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Monday, November 22, 2010

oh no! it's christmas! =S

i always get excited when christmas is around the corner. i love the lights, the decorations, the christmas shopping (especially christmas shopping!), the cold wind, and hot coffee (with a splash of peppermint please). i love santa claus! i love christmas songs! i love the christmas spirit!

however, there's one thing i don't look forward to during christmas -- getting interviewed by relatives. by aunties and lolas, specifically. for the past christmases, there have always been questions about my "status".

"o ano, wala ka pa bang ipapakilala?", they ask.
why can't they ask "o, kumusta na ka na ba? kumusta ang trabaho? ok ka ba dun sa condo?" instead?

at one point, i told them that i'm ok with not being married ever. and i think that made them go to panic mode. hahaha!

"nako hija, wag mong sasabihin yan!!"
"don't nip it in the bud! malay mo baka may cute friend, diba?"
sigh.

don't get me wrong. i didn't say i don't want to get married. of course i do, someday. maybe. i'm just saying that i'm ok not being married either. hay naku. the pressure. mygaaahd. if they want cute little kids, i have other cousins who would do that hahaha! i don't get it why most people see not being married as something bad. even scary.

but anyway, that's about it. everything else about christmas, i absolutely LOVE!
eto na, i can feel the Christmas spirit already!
pass the cheer everyone! :D

oh yea, this is my PC wallpaper. o diba?! :D

what made you smile today?

our lives aren't perfect. of course everyone has good and bad days. but here's my new ritual: in my planner, i write down what made me smile that day. it doesn't have to be a grand surprise. even simple random things can make me smile. it now serves as a reminder to me that even during the worst days, there must be something good that happened, no matter how small.

i started last oct. 6, 2010 and here's what i got so far.

What Made You Smile Today?

oct. 6 (W) - a nice, hot cup of starbucks latte
oct. 7 (H) - guy giving me his seat in the crowded bus
oct. 8 (F) - yummy beef hofan
oct. 9 (S) - talking on the phone with mom
oct. 10 (S) - body combat class
oct. 11 (M) - loading of finance-related files DONE! les mills launch! FIGHT! (definitely a good day)
oct. 12 (T) - talking on the phone with lola, YM with ate ria
oct. 13 (W) - winnie monsod's video
oct. 14 (H) - mom & my brother sleeping over at my house
oct. 15 (F) - breakfast with mom @ the coffeebean (i think she really liked it too. yummy breakfast in a cozy coffeeshop amidst high-rise buildings. sweet!). retail therapy yeah!
oct. 16 (S) - no work yeah! combat. a gift from lola. hot green tea latte.
oct. 17 (S) - sleep. kurt and rachel's rendition of "happy days are here again"
oct. 18 (M) - my brother waking up right away when i told him to. john morrison's awesome move that looked like a backflip DDT.
oct. 19 (T) - sms conversion that reminded me of being dazzled. christmas songs YEY!!!

more smiles to come :) hep hep hoo!

me, myself and i

i have been focusing on myself this past few weeks. earlier this year it was work work work. now i go to the gym more often. although still not as much as i want to. gusto ko 4-6 hrs a day, parang biggest loser level! haha! i'm serious. i also started cooking my own food -- for dinner, at least (thanks to one of my former officemates who inspired me to cook). my tiny refrigerator used to have water/soda and chips. now it has water, half a bag of chips, juice, the occasional soda, chicken, fish, veggies (o ha!), yogurt, cheese and 2 bottles of GPS (for emergency purposes only. ahahah!) still stuck on doing easy dishes though.

i've been cleaning the house and doing the laundry and rewarding myself by enjoying wwe (wooh orton! and omg john morrison! high flying moves plus newly seen submission holds? love. hahahaha!) and the biggest loser asia. (go nai! wooh!)
* off topic: i loved wwe's video on its Make A Wish foundation. i wish all the wwe superstars would smile more often. it makes them more gwapo. hahah!

i also have been looking for and going to events/sales/bazaars/exhibits. my favorite venue so far is the megatrade hall, basically because i could just take a 10-15 minute walk and i'm home :) i don't necessarily have to buy anything. gusto ko lang maiba, hindi puro department store/boutiques ang nakikita ko.

unfortunately, i'll have to put in more effort to squeeze in this "trying to be healthy and happy" regimen for the coming weeks. yes, you guessed it -- starts with 'W" and rhymes with pork. this is it pancit! crunch time! so please Lord, give me the discipline and will power to keep this up. please please please. i NEED this po. because i feel that i am not good enough unless i do this. thank you po.

let's go sago!

PS. sana mag Christmas na! one HAPPY Christmas please! Amen!

new reading material

my magazines and chick-lits have taken a rest, at least for this past week. my brain was still in overdrive as usual, but i've been having a new train of thought. for the past couple of days i have been busy reading this book. something that i should have read years ago. although if i did get to read it earlier, it probably wouldn't make much sense and it wouldn't have made an impact. i've been reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

it is a very famous book and it was worth reading because i learned a lot. (yep, i have been taking notes while reading. parang college lang haha.)

there are sooo many ideas in the book that i'd like to share. parang makaka-ilang blog ako para masulat lahat. so here's the compact version instead:

- scenario: corporation announces downsizing. employees get laid-off. price of stock usually goes up. employees lose, owner and investors win.
- "I can't afford it" = mental laziness. say "How can I afford it?" instead.
- what's important is to be able to correctly identify an asset vs a liability. (apparently, my pad is a liability. a necessity, but still not an asset.)
- why middle class people struggle: income goes up, expenses go up. assets do not increase, liabilities increase.
- why the rich get richer: use income to build assets, assets get more income. expenses are low, liabilities are low.
- your business revolves around your asset column, not your income column.
- rich people buy luxuries last. poor and middle class people tend to buy luxuries first. (guilty!) use your assets to buy luxuries. most people buy luxuries on credit, which is easier short-term but harder long-term.
- "work your way up the corporate ladder" --> "why not own the ladder?"
- 4 areas of expertise needed: accounting, investing, understanding markets, the law. for most people, the only skill they know is to work hard.
- this line, i like: "life is much like going to the gym. the most painful part is deciding to go. once you get past that, it's easy."
- "giving money is the secret to most great wealthy families."
- what i know: makes me money.
- what i don't know: loses me money.
- arrogant people: what i don't know is not important. some people use arrogance to hide ignorance. not good.
- how come mcdonald's makes more money than most people who cook better hamburgers? because most talented people "focus on building better hamburgers and know little about business systems".
- ask questions instead of argue. open your mind to new ideas.
- savings are supposed to be used to create money, not pay for bills. (sort of guilty, again.)
- every month, allocate money to you asset column before paying for your expenses.

aaaaaaahhh! so much more to learn! reading Mr. Kiyosaki's book makes investing look easy. but i'm pretty sure implementing these ideas and actually making money isn't a piece of cake. i am taking little steps though. for someone who's not much of a risk-taker, it's a start.

crossroad

was there a time wherein you questioned what you're doing with your life? why you chose the path that you're taking? i know i have. a million times.

a lot of people say that their passion - whether it's performing, painting, photography, writing, whatever - will just be a hobby. they can't make it into a career. mainly because it's not practical, and let's admit that most of us need financial stability and security.

i recently read a blog about pursuing one's passion and here's what i learned.

first, you have to dig deeper. you should identify the "essence" of your passion. for example, you have a passion of singing. why do you love singing? is it because you want to entertain people? you like to express your creativity? you want to inspire others?

once you've identified this "essence" (oh yeah, it doesn't have to be just one), think about your preferred form of expression. writing? music? fashion?  cooking? then based on the list, you can think of all the possible "careers" - teacher, stylist, journalist, director, sales person, etc. pick something on your list that you are most passionate about, and then formulate a plan to make it happen. yep, easier said than done, i know. it's a long process, but it may be doable.

i did step 1, and reflected on what i'm passionate about. here's what i got:
- i like brainstorming and creative thinking.
- i want to be able to oversee a process/operation. parang coordinate, collaborate and make it work.
- women empowerment (i think that's pretty obvious with my other posts haha!)
- i want to learn/experience new things.
- this is may sound nerdy, but i like to be able to interpret data (ok, that's 100% nerdy. darn.) for example, given this whole bunch of info, what does it mean? how can it help you? (hello data-mining haha!)

i actually identified my preferred forms/means already, but i shall keep that to myself :P hmmm... where to go? what's next? more self-searching to do!

thank you!

i'm not a professional blogger. although to be one would be awesome :) i just write when i feel like it. i don't have a "specialty" topic and i seldom write deep-shit blogs (mostly because things like those are too personal for me to post publicly hihi)

so i would like to thank those who read this humble blog of mine. i'm suprised at my blog's stats for the past few days. international ba ito? hahah :)

ok, so 50+ readers a day is nothing compared to the thousands of readers that other bloggers have. but hey, it doesn't take much to make this Little Lady happy :D

apparently, not a lot of people want to grow up. haha!

thank you!

who needs to grow up?

while channel surfing the other night, i chanced upon playhouse disney's  animal mechanicals (my cute little nephews love this show) and disney channel's pucca. yes, i watched, and i actually enjoyed watching them :)

and i thought, "how simple life was before." you know, back when we didn't have to worry about work, bills, work, chores, work, weight, work, laundry, work... that sort of stuff. when all you had to do was finish studying right away so you could watch your favorite television shows.

hence, the flashback of my fave shows. i'd love to watch these again! (and not think of grown-up stuff please)

hmmm... lemme see... let's start with my super duper favorites. of course, first and foremost would be mighty morphin power rangers! woohhhh! i super duper love this show! well, basically because Tommy (green/white ranger) was my first ever ever ever crush. i think i was in love with him for most of my elementary years haha! (for those who know me well, you could see that my preference is consistent ever since. haha!) damn, i remember one time, it was the week before my final exam. so i had to study some more even if it was a friday night. meaning (gasp!) i'm going to miss the episode where tommy reveals that he is actually the white ranger! i cried that night. hahahahaha! seriously! (hmm... come to think about it... tommy's the first guy to make me cry. biruin mo yun! epiphany!) now there all sorts of power rangers. power rangers: dino thunder. power rangers: mystic force. power rangers: jungle fury. what the? basta! mighty morphin power rangers is still the best (biased much? haha) ooh, i loved their ninja costume too!

second, rurouni kenshin. my love for traditional japanese culture started here. samurais, ninjas, sakura trees, kimonos, honor. all in here. i remember searching for fanfictions of this series. well, aside from all the japanese culture stuff, i think i liked this anime because of kaoru and misao. i know that in the old times, japanese women were "just women". born to find a husband and serve him good tea and give him children (sons, preferably). but these two chicks are so kick-ass! i love them! plus of course, it doesn't hurt that kenshin (especially in battousai mode) and aoshi look great :D

then there's card captor sakura. this is totally cute! i love sakura and syaoran and all this puppy love going on. and kero is just adorable :) i remember wanting to buy my own deck of sakura cards then. my favorite episode (yes, i still remember it) was when sakura and syaoran were trapped in the elevator. and then magically, the elevator shook and began to disappear. then sakura fell into the dark space (?) and syaoran wasn't able to grab her. and his face looked so lost. and i was like "aww..." hahaha!

and who would forget sailor moon? "parurusahan kita, sa ngalan ng buwan!" i'm not really fond of usagi though. i think her powers are weak (bwahaha!) my favorites are makoto (sailor jupiter) and setsuna (sailor pluto), although the latter appeared only late into the series. and whew! what a long series this is! ilang taon atang pinalabas ito e haha :)

then there's:

ghost fighter/yuyu hakusho - gosh, because of this anime, "spirit world" became so popular. my favorite would definitely be vincent :)

flame of recca - i'd like to have mikagami and kirisawa and recca's powers! all of em! wind, water and 7 fire dragons under my command. bwahaha!

pokemon - i used to memorize a whole lot of pokemons. but i think i actually started analyzing (yep, that's what i do for a living) stuff early on. i mean, at first i had no idea why ekans and arbok were named as such. but then after some thought... it dawned to me. ekans is snake spelled backwards, and arbok is kobra. how brilliant!

cinderella - the series aired by abs-cbn has a slightly different story. in this series, cinderella is already friends with the prince, although she doesn't know that he is actually the prince. prince leonard usually goes to town dressed as a commoner.

she-ra - omg this is so old school! i think this is one of the few american cartoons that i loved.

gundam wing - i think aside from the big-ass, cool robots, i watched this series because of hiro. he has the same detached personality like that of squall leonhart's (who i also uber love, by the way)

shaider - who didn't watch shaider back then? with annie and the shigi shigi thing going on?

maskman - "kami ang mga bayaning magiting! walang takot! sa bangis ng kalaban di umuurong!" and "michael joe!"

bioman - i usually prefer pink rangers. but for bioman i liked the original yellow one. just because i think women archers are kick-ass.

x-men - i love their opening theme. "tenenenenen-nenen. tenenenenen-nenen. tenenenenen-nenen. tenen!" how come the timeline of the new x-men cartoons seem messed up? why is nightcrawler young?

ok ok. so i think some are looking for dragon ball z. yes i watched it too, pero hindi ko inabangan talaga. but i think trunks and vegeta are cool :) fushigi yuugi? ok lang. but i don't like miaka. love hotohori though, such a martyr :)   the classics princess sarah & cedie? ummm... i just watched it because there's nothing else to watch. pero ok na rin. naruto? hell yeah i love naruto! but that's pretty recent, so not counted :)

wow... that was fun. being a kid again while writing this blog :) what was your favorite kiddie show?
