more! more!

presenting my tiny library :D

i still have a couple more left in QC though (about 3 novels and 5-7 short novels), which i am too lazy to pick up. maybe if i get myself a nice shelf, i'd let them join their sister/brother books right here.

i have my favorites, like Passport Diaries (which i got in a booksale in chicago... for $2. waahaha!! approx 100pesos for a great  hard bound book! panis!) and Savannah Breeze and a lot of the short novels. however, these 2 are quite special. these are gifts to me. thank you thank you!

5 things to do -- if i had unlimited $$$

let's be selfish here for a minute. no goody-goody "i'll give it to charity" or "i'll give some to my parents/family/etc" or "save up" answers allowed. what would i do with oodles and oodles of money? NOTE: i'm talking about material/vain things here. of course there are always things that no amount of money can buy.

1. visit egypt. this is one country i've always wanted to go to. i would want to experience the grandeur of the pyramids and the sphinx. of course i'd have to pack a bunch of antihistamines for this trip.

2. go to paris. paris just seems like the place to be. it seems like a very romantic, fashionable place. living a couple (or more) years in paris would be a awesome.

3. get a 2-storey beachfront house with lots of floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a suite in a glamorous condominium. both should have an audio-visual room, a nice, clean kitchen and a library. and househelp please.

4. build makidoodles group of companies. then i would have my own string of coffeeshops, wellness centers, hypo-allergenic makeup line, hotels and recording studios. hmm... i might even consider buying part of wwe.

5. non-evasive slimming treatments galore! bahaha! die fat cells! get ready for a whole lot of lasers and shockwaves and lotions and high-frequency chorvaness ngyihihi!

breezy read

another chillax & fun read for me :) i finished reading Savannah Breeze by Mary Kay Andrews a few days ago. can you guess why i enjoyed reading it? that's right! it's all about a successful businesswoman (not multinational company extravagant level. but successful enough to earn her own businesses and real estate. so yeah, she's more realistic to me.), Bebe (pronounced as BayBay) Loudermilk, being screwed BIG TIME by this handsome, smooth-talking, flirty con guy. and then getting back at him (with the help of her granddad, antique-addict bestfriend, and innkeeper/fisherman /plumber/carpenter/mechanic guy) bwahaha >:) it's a classic example of being pushed and falling down (as in down in the dumps), and then getting back at your feet to chase that guy and put him right where he belongs. and realizing in the end what the important things in life are.

savannah breeze is fast-paced, so you don't get bored reading it. the story is set in an urban town and then in a beach-y place with marinas and boats and decks and sun everywhere. diba relaxing na kaagad?

so there. i bought another book from Booksale last night wahoo! I just love that shop 8-> lots of books for 30% of the original price hihihi :D and do you know how i pick a book to buy? i don't look at the author. i look for a pink/violet/lavender/mint green/whatever-girly-color cover. hahah stupid, i know :)) but it makes filtering easier. "black cover? nope. dark red? nah. white? next." haha! and then i check the back cover for the one-liner reviews and story "trailer". if it is well-written and if it sounds interesting, then that's a find for me :) i'm starting to build my little chick-lit library at home (oh yeah, i have 2 wwe books din pala). they're all stacked in my neon green picnic basket. hmm, if i could just find the perfect shelf for those books...

i want more weeknights like this

what does a pondering little lady do when something comes up at work and she stays a couple of minutes longer -- just long enough to know that she won't be able to have a bike for spinning class, thus, making her miss gym altogether?

what else? go to a comfy coffeeshop, have some double vanilla tea latte and read her new chick-lit while subconsciously enjoying the "waters of march" background music.

now this is how you should spend weeknights :) so relaxing, i don't even want to go home anymore :)

The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be

every wwe fan knows who bret hart is. bret "the hitman" hart. from calgary, alberta, canada. son of stu hart. the hart foundation. the excellence of execution. sharpshooter. the best technical wrestler there is.

i just watched his documentary last night (better late than never!). and i must say, i was on a high. seeing videos of bret at the height of his career, i was like "WOW. ang galing talaga!" i won't go into the details of his wrestling skills. basta with regard to that, bret "the hitman" hart is GREAT.  so i'll write about other things that made me admire him even more.

first, bret did this video, despite the montreal screw job. that, in itself, is amazing. it's hard talking about things that hurt you because it shows your vulnerability. so hands down to bret.

trivia: did you know that bret has never injured any of his opponents? ang galing diba? that means he does his moves right (which makes his monicker "the excellence of execution" even more fitting). he takes care of his partner in the ring. unfortunately, an injury caused by a concussion given by goldberg (who bret says is really a "good-hearted" man) ended his professional wrestling career.

also, he has this "special connection" with the fans, as fellow wwe wrestler christian said. and i agree! (yep, pondering little fan right here!) the video showed this little girl who was hugging bret and crying and she was like "thank you bret!" waaah... lucky girl! when wwe did the "hart sibling rivalry" story line (R.I.P. owen hart), some fans come up to him and say "you know what, i have a brother that i haven't talked to in 18 yrs..." diba, touching?

speaking of owen hart, it really is sad. owen was really like the joker in wwe locker room. nakakalungkot. but it's nice to see how close bret and owen really were in real life, despite how they made it look in the story line. i was touched when the video showed the cage match between them, and bret had to suplex owen off the top of the cage. bret said he remembered how important it was for him to protect owen on their way down. waaah. :')

another thing, i think bret said it in the video twice. "i'm not greedy for money. but i'm greedy for respect." and people do respect him. because he is awesome.

and his last words in the video (after talking about his injury and the stroke he experienced) "whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger."

roll-ons aren't just for deodorants anymore

another chick find! i discovered the easiest-to-apply eye shadow/shimmer. why easiest-to-apply, you ask? because it is a roll-on eye shadow/shimmer! it's called Star Dust Roll-on Poudre Pailletee. bloom is so brilliant! it takes a few seconds to swipe it on your eyelids and you're good to go.  :) although only a few shades are left. i got one in Rose Gold. it isn't flashy at all. just the right hint of shimmer on your eyelids.

don't you just love it when Beauty Bar goes on sale? hihihihi! :D
