The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be

every wwe fan knows who bret hart is. bret "the hitman" hart. from calgary, alberta, canada. son of stu hart. the hart foundation. the excellence of execution. sharpshooter. the best technical wrestler there is.

i just watched his documentary last night (better late than never!). and i must say, i was on a high. seeing videos of bret at the height of his career, i was like "WOW. ang galing talaga!" i won't go into the details of his wrestling skills. basta with regard to that, bret "the hitman" hart is GREAT.  so i'll write about other things that made me admire him even more.

first, bret did this video, despite the montreal screw job. that, in itself, is amazing. it's hard talking about things that hurt you because it shows your vulnerability. so hands down to bret.

trivia: did you know that bret has never injured any of his opponents? ang galing diba? that means he does his moves right (which makes his monicker "the excellence of execution" even more fitting). he takes care of his partner in the ring. unfortunately, an injury caused by a concussion given by goldberg (who bret says is really a "good-hearted" man) ended his professional wrestling career.

also, he has this "special connection" with the fans, as fellow wwe wrestler christian said. and i agree! (yep, pondering little fan right here!) the video showed this little girl who was hugging bret and crying and she was like "thank you bret!" waaah... lucky girl! when wwe did the "hart sibling rivalry" story line (R.I.P. owen hart), some fans come up to him and say "you know what, i have a brother that i haven't talked to in 18 yrs..." diba, touching?

speaking of owen hart, it really is sad. owen was really like the joker in wwe locker room. nakakalungkot. but it's nice to see how close bret and owen really were in real life, despite how they made it look in the story line. i was touched when the video showed the cage match between them, and bret had to suplex owen off the top of the cage. bret said he remembered how important it was for him to protect owen on their way down. waaah. :')

another thing, i think bret said it in the video twice. "i'm not greedy for money. but i'm greedy for respect." and people do respect him. because he is awesome.

and his last words in the video (after talking about his injury and the stroke he experienced) "whatever doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger."
